Gilbert D. Bahr, 78, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Gilbert Douglas Bahr was born May 22, 1939 in Bemidji to Melvin and Eunice Bahr. He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1957. After high school, Gilbert became a self employed trucker and eventually went to work for Coca Cola. On August 12, 1961 he married Jo-Anne Jensen in Bemidji, MN. In 1971, he went to work for the City of Bemidji where he was a full time fireman and retired in 1995. For over 20 years, Gilbert and Jo-Anne loved wintering in Yuma, AZ. However, his pride and joy was his family especially his 4 grandchildren.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne; daughters, Kim (Tim) Pollock, Bemidji and Kristi (Jay) Ness, Roseau; grandchildren, Aaron (Samantha) Ness & Abby Ness; Haley & Alex Pollock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin & Marlo Bahr.
