Carol Ann Christian was born in Roseau, MN on August 4, 1940 to Norval and Doris (Danks) Ness. Carol passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the age of 83 surrounded by family.
She attended High School in Roseau and graduated with the class of 1958. Carol was an active student participating in band as a head majorette, choir, and basketball. Carol had a love for the ice and wanted to share it with anyone that wanted to go along. She taught many kids how to skate. Little did she know her love for the ice would become an even bigger part of her life when she met her future husband. She taught figure skating and choreographed skating shows in both Warroad and Roseau.
She married Bill on October 24, 1958 and spent 67 beautiful years together. They built a beautiful home on the Warroad river and added four children to the family, two boys and two girls. Carol loved to tend to her flowers every summer, playing golf, swimming, watching hockey and skating. Hockey of course became her favorite and she loved to tell people about her husband Bill and son David’s gold medals, and also sharing that her grandson Brock played in the NHL for the New York Islanders.
Sharing stories about all of her grandchildren and making sure her friends knew how amazing each one of them were filled her heart. She was so proud of everything they accomplished.
Carol and Bill moved to Naples, Florida and enjoyed the sunshine and the view from their lanai every day. Her family loved to visit and she enjoyed showing them all of the beautiful sights and spending time on the beach.
Carol will be greatly missed by husband Bill, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends, and all of those she touched. Her memory will live on forever.
