Palma Regina (Brekke) Ulland

Palma Ulland, 99, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, April 06, 2018 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Laporte with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakeport Cemetery.

Palma Regina Brekke was born November 11, 1918 in Freeborn County, MN to John and Thea Brekke. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school. On November 11, 1940 she married Sylvester Ulland in Austin, MN. They farmed near Austin and then moved to Ostrander, MN. In 1955, the family moved near Laporte where Palma and Sylvester purchased a farm. Palma worked as a senior companion at Ah-Gwah-Ching for thirty years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1955. Palma had a wonderful green thumb which she grew beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Ulland of Laporte; daughters, Janice (Wesley) Frenzel of Northome, Sharon (Russell) Lembke of Leonard and Linda (Lynn) Anderson of Bemidji; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Jeanne Nelson and son-in-law Robert Nelson.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Laporte.
