Daniel "Dan" Joseph Brouse Sr.

Daniel Joseph Brouse, Sr. of Bemidji, MN died April 4, 2018 at Riverview Care Center, Crookston, MN.

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home Bemidji, MN. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dan was born May 29, 1938 to Verner and Mary Lillian Brouse (Genereau) in Grand Forks, ND. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, MN in 1956 and proceeded to join the Army National Guard and begin an apprenticeship in the pipefitting trade. Dan married Bonnie Jean Kuzel of Grand Forks, ND August 13, 1959.

Dan was a largely self-taught expert Pipe Fitter in the pneumatic control field. He was a loyal Union member and was proud to have worked on large commercial projects throughout his career including the Minutemen missile sites located throughout North Dakota. Dan prided himself in community, America and helping those less fortunate. Dan was an ardent supporter of U.S. Veterans. Dan enjoyed visiting with family and friends, enjoyed being at the lake and was an avid racing fan throughout much of his life. Dan loved humor with an emphasis on corny jokes and felt we should make time for laughing even if it was at ourselves at times.

Dan is survived by his three children, Carrie Beth Brouse, Rochester, MN, Daniel Brouse Jr. (Jackie), Bemidji, MN, Jackie MacPherson, Grand Rapids, MN. Four grandchildren, Amanda Birkey (Mike), Danville, IN,  Paul Pedraza, Grand Forks, ND, Ashley Brouse, Bend, OR, Emilie Brouse, Bemidji, MN. Two great grandchildren, Jack and Elizabeth Birkey, Danville, IN,  siblings J Robert Brouse (Patricia),Bemidji, MN.  William Brouse (Stella), Milwaukee, WI, Judy Busch (Mike), International Falls, MN. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Haney, brother, Lyle Brouse and son, Paul Brouse.
